Postdomesticus

Postdomesticus is a visual essay on the theme of what will happen when we are gone. The return of domestic animals to their true, long-forgotten homeland. The contradictory phrase "domestic animal." Memories of life observed from the warmth behind windows, a regular supply of food without effort, coexistence with species other than our own, cans of tuna pâté with a liquid center, scratching posts, cat litter. A world in which our owners are no longer present, but from whom we learned a great deal and quietly observed. From a precarious life in the wild, we made it to the couch of the most intelligent beings on this planet. Now it's time to start over, to stand on our own two feet again, from scratch.
